Not Sure What to Get the Man Who Has Everything for Christmas? Try a Luxury Bath Towel

Christ­mas shop­ping sea­son is upon us once again and I am for­tu­nate enough to be a man who has nearly every­thing. A new car wouldn’t go amiss but I am pretty happy with my lot and already have a 40 inch plasma TV. So last year I sat there on the day of good will expect­ing all of the usual rub­bish to be bestowed upon me wrapped in Rudolph cov­ered paper. Socks, bor­ing, slip­pers, bor­ing, a nut cracker, oh thanks dear. This is when I got an unex­pected and sur­pris­ingly grat­i­fy­ing treat from under­neath the mass of pine nee­dles at the back of the room.

I actu­ally got some­thing that I have liked and actu­ally enjoyed using every­day for the whole year.

Rarely is any­thing as plea­sur­able as step­ping out of a steam­ing hot bath on to a plush lux­ury bath mat and being wrapped into a fab­u­lously lux­u­ri­ous warm thick bath towel. This may sound like a sad thing to say, but think about it. Hav­ing a warm lux­ury towel grabbed straight from a boil­ing hot towel rail and indulging in the squeeze of 820 gsm of pure Turk­ish cot­ton. I can think of things much worse!

This is when Christ­mas comes into the equa­tion. Imag­ine me last year on Box­ing Day feel­ing a lit­tle worse for wear hav­ing the com­fort of a brand new towel wrapped around myself. Noth­ing better.

All of my pre­vi­ous bath tow­els were scraggy, smelly and on the verge of being clas­si­fied as an inde­pen­dent eco sys­tem. I don’t like to think of all the bugs that were infest­ing in them, I sup­pose they could have been washed but they always lose that soft feel and thick­ness that they had when I bought them. That’s why I think it’s impor­tant to buy a qual­ity bath towel because then it lasts for so much longer and is thicker than the bud­get paper thin beach tow­els I used to try and pass off as bath towels.

With this one I got last year I would have to say if any­thing it has got even bet­ter with age. It seemed to become even more absorbent after more washes and is now even nicer to use than on that first use on Box­ing Day.

If I were to rec­om­mend a towel to be added on a Christ­mas list this year it would have to be one with as many loops of fine cot­ton as phys­i­cally pos­si­ble. The more loops, the more cot­ton and there­fore the greater the towel’s dry­ing abil­ity. It’s essen­tial that it’s really heavy too, that’s a sign of a good towel. I am sure many men around the World would be extremely thank­ful for a gift that’s for every­day life not just for Christmas.
